On Tuesday, April 16, the government approved the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture on the procedure for granting state support for the land and plantings affected by the 2018 drought.
In order to minimize the damage caused to farmers by the long-lasting drought in 2018, which was classified as a nationwide natural disaster, the government decided to pay € 4,427,733 from the state budget of 2019 for the 99 types of crops listed in the annex of the regulations. The list of crops is based on the reduction in crop yields affected by drought in 2018.
State support will be paid for the area of crops declared in the joint application in 2018, if the total area of eligible agricultural land is at least one hectare and it was recognized in 2018 as eligible for the single area payment or payment of the small farmers’ support scheme.
The support rate per hectare will be calculated by dividing the funding by the total eligible area recognized in 2018.
